Bee a Speller — seven letters, one centre

Play any time

Seven letters arranged around one centre letter. Every word you build has to use that centre letter, and letters can be reused as often as you like. Short words keep the score ticking; a word that uses all seven is where the round is won.

It is the most open-ended game in the collection — there is no single right answer, only how much of the board you managed to see. That makes it the one people replay the same letters on.

Longer words are worth more, so it pays to hunt for the long one before you empty the board of threes and fours. Pick Easy, Medium, Hard or Extreme and play as many sets of letters as you want.

How to play Bee a Speller

  1. Look at the seven letters and find the centre one.
  2. Build a word of at least four letters that includes the centre letter.
  3. Reuse letters freely — there is no limit on how many times a letter appears.
  4. Keep going: every valid word adds to the round score, and longer is worth more.
  5. Spend coins on a reveal if you are certain the board still has something in it.

What you get

Bee a Speller questions

Does every word need the centre letter?

Yes. That is the whole constraint — a word without the centre letter does not count, however good it is.

Can I reuse letters?

Yes, as many times as you like. Only the centre-letter rule and the minimum length limit you.

Is there a daily puzzle?

Bee a Speller is a practice-and-challenge game rather than a daily. You can play it whenever you want, and challenge a friend or a group on it.
