Every past daily stays in the archive. Open the calendar, pick a day, play it. Archive plays are recorded but never touch your streak, so the streak stays an honest count of the days you actually showed up.
Challenge a friend head to head on any of the nine games, or set a whole group going at once. Both players get the same board, and the result is ranked on solve first, then score, then time.
Play every game as a guest with no account. Sign in with Google or Apple whenever you like and your streaks, coins, level, achievements and half-finished grids move with you to the next device.
Coins for finishing, XP for winning, a level that climbs across every game, and a catalogue of achievements with a novice and a master badge for each game.
Daily, weekly, all-time and friends-only boards. The weekly board runs on one shared window for everybody, because a competition on a different clock per player is not a competition.

Nine: Word Guess, Word Chain, Word Search, Crossword, Bee a Speller, Anagram, Cryptogram, Word Weave and Sudoku. Five of them publish a new daily puzzle; all nine can be played on demand and used to challenge a friend.
No. You can play every game as a guest without signing in. Signing in with Google or Apple is optional — it exists so your progress survives a new phone and so you can add friends.
Several games work with no connection — the dictionary and the puzzle libraries are stored on the device. Daily puzzles, leaderboards and challenges need a connection to sync.
Android phones and tablets through Google Play, and iPhone and iPad through the App Store.
The streak resets. You can still play the day you missed from the archive, and the result is recorded, but it does not restore the streak — the streak is a record of days played on the day, in your own timezone.
